Story

Hello and welcome to Sota Pop Boardshop. I started skateboarding in 2009 October 31st. That day I gathered all the money I had to buy my first skateboard from our local mall. Growing up skating in Mankato there weren't too many options to get skateboarding products. It was either Zumiez or online shops. The first skate shop out of Mankato I went to was Zombie Boardshop. 

It was amazing to see the products that they had in the shop. Stuff I would only see online or in magazines. Eventually I found out about 3rd Lair, Familia, Help and Cal Surf. My senior year of High school I was trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life, skateboarding had be a part of it. I had the idea of starting a skate shop at the time, but it didn't go anywhere. 

In November of 2023 the idea came to me again. I started making plans for the shop. My  friend Kevin and I were talking about shop names. Kevin brought up the name Sota Pop. The name came from our friend Zach and it was suppose to be a skate company. I talked to Zach if I could use the name. Zach gave me the green light. 

The goal for Sota Pop Boardshop is to bring people together. I want to help the  community and the skateboarding community in Mankato. I'll be selling only shop products to start. May of 2025 I'll have other skate products available. Also I'll be mobile, going to public skateparks in Minnesota. Hopefully I’ll have location in the near future.
